The Hotel Maintenance Helper assists with the daily upkeep and maintenance of the hotel property. This position involves performing general maintenance tasks, ensuring that all hotel facilities and equipment are in good working condition, and providing support to the maintenance team to enhance the guest experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and able to perform basic repairs and routine maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the maintenance team in the daily upkeep of the hotel’s facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc.).
- Conduct routine inspections to identify issues such as leaks, electrical malfunctions, or mechanical breakdowns.
- Respond to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with the setup and repair of equipment used for hotel events and activities.
- Ensure the hotel meets all safety standards, including maintaining fire safety equipment and signage.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance storage areas.
- Assist in painting, minor carpentry, and plumbing tasks as needed.
- Report any major repair issues to the maintenance supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and hotel protocols to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Ability to operate various maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
