Position Summary:
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and overall functioning of the hotel's physical property. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel equipment are in good working order to enhance guest satisfaction. The Maintenance Worker will assist with repairs, preventive maintenance, and other maintenance tasks as required, all while following safety protocols and maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Complete routine maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
- Respond to Guest Requests: Address and resolve maintenance-related guest complaints and requests in a timely and professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance checks on hotel equipment, machinery, and systems to prevent downtime and costly repairs.
- Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair equipment, appliances, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety equipment, fire alarms, and emergency exits are functional and meet safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies required for maintenance tasks, and report when stock is low.
- Assist with Housekeeping Needs: Work with the housekeeping team to ensure rooms and public areas are in optimal condition.
- General Property Maintenance: Assist with outdoor maintenance such as lawn care, snow removal, and waste management as necessary.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records of maintenance activities and completed tasks, including work orders, preventive maintenance logs, and other reports.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in hotel maintenance or a similar environment. Prior knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- HVAC certification, electrical certification, or plumbing certification, depending on the hotel’s needs.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, or move heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
- Shifts: This position may require flexibility in hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, based on hotel needs.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced, with exposure to various weather conditions during outdoor maintenance tasks.
