Summary

Pool attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of pool guests, as well as handing out towels, ensuring that guests adhere to all safety rules, and taking care of pool equipment. Pool attendants are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the area surrounding the pool, gathering towels, greeting guests, and answering any questions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Always approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner by maintaining a positive demeanor.

- Promote a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner.

- Observe and patrol the pool deck and enforces safety regulations.

- Preserve pool cleanliness, safety, and guest relationships through supervision and engagement.

- Maintain daily operations of the pool.

- Greet all guests upon arrival, distribute towels, offer assistance with seating, and delivering consistent guest service, exceeding guest expectations, and providing all other supporting services.

- Knowledgeable of pool facility such as length and depth of all pools, pool side bar hours of operation, location of facilities, and emergency procedure for rescue.

- Willing to take ownership of all guest requests and complaints, try to resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guests satisfaction.

- Identify and report defects throughout the pool and hot tub area, notify supervisors and concerned departments immediately of hazards, injuries, or equipment that negatively affect the operations.

- Ensure swimming pools and hot tubs are clean at all times.

- Knowledge of the principles and practices of resuscitation, first aid, and CPR techniques.

- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment for self and others.

- Knowledge of swimming pool equipment sufficient to be able to perform minor maintenance work on the equipment.

- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of pool deck and facilities including straightening and stacking chairs, collecting soiled towels and trash, moving chairs, replacing flags, and cleaning signs.

- Work closely with other departments that are essential to ensuring a positive guest experience.

- Receive, record, and secure found property. Research and respond to guests’ inquiries for lost property.

- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred.

3. First Aid and CPR certification.

4. Should be able to work independently and with minimum supervision.

5. Excellent customer service skills.

6. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.

7. Have a strong attention to details.

8. Must be able to multi-task.

9. Must be a team player.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employer is regularly required to use hands, and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, and walk for long periods of time. The employee will be required to reach, with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position demands physical and mental health.

- The position occasionally requires the employee to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and work a flexible schedule including long hours, holidays, and weekends. Must be able to move continuously during work hours and to lift up to 50 pounds.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
