What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Engineer position at Hollywood Woodwork?
Summary :
This position requires the ability to interface with designers, architects, contractors, and / or owners in the development and management of highly custom woodwork projects. This position requires a high-level of knowledge in all aspects of the Engineering process, design and / or architectural knowledge, and Leads team of Drafters and Pre-Production in the development of shop drawings, submittals, redlines, and release packages. Works closely with Project Teams and Production to align Engineering and Manufacturing requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Interfaces and coordinates with designers, architects, contractors, and / or owners in the final design development of specific projects with ambiguous designs and / or a high level of custom work.
- Works closely with Project Manager and Project Team in the development of drawings, scope, and customer requirements.
- Responsible for end-to-end Engineering process for major projects, working with Drafters and Pre-Production, and coordinating with Project Teams.
- Evaluate feasibility of designs, based on factors such as technical feasibility, function, budget, and production costs / methods.
- Work with Project Teams in creating RFI’s, identifying scope adjustment items, establishing and evaluating design concepts, requisitioning material, generating material lists, calculating material requirements for LEED documentation, meeting AWI / QCP certification requirements.
- Prepares initial layout of drawing pages, including project information and key plans per area.
- Develop detailed shop drawings and submittal packages for millwork, cabinetry, and panel products using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software.
- Obtain and assemble data to complete submittal packages and shop drawings, performing material and hardware research as well as site information as necessary.
- Develop detailed drawings, specifications, and quantities for material, hardware, and buyout orders.
- Modify and revise designs to improve operating efficiency.
- Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
- Develop manufacturing procedures and cutlists and monitor the manufacturing of shop drawings in production to improve operations and product quality.
- Research specifications, costs, production materials and manufacturing methods, and provide labor and cost estimate recommendations and itemized production requirements.

Salary : $52,000 - $72,000
