HR Recruiter
Position Overview: The HR Recruiter is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process within Holtger Bros., Inc. (HBI). This role includes assisting with recruitment activities and supporting the overall success of the HR department.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Retention:
- Perform recruitment and retention activities for all open positions as directed by the HR Manager.
- Continuously explore new recruitment resources (e.g., career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, non-profit organizations) to attract quality candidates.
Candidate Sourcing & Advertising:
- Develop internal and external advertising programs to enhance visibility with potential candidates.
- Write, update, and post all recruiting advertisements.
Candidate Screening & Interviews:
- Screen resumes, conduct interviews (phone, video, and/or in-person), and administer assessments for open positions (field, office, and shop).
- Submit coversheets, applications, interview notes, and MVR with hiring recommendations to the HR Manager for review.
Employment Offers & Onboarding:
- Extend employment offers as directed by HR Manager and/or HR Consultant.
- Communicate important employment details, such as benefits, compensation, and travel requirements.
- Coordinate pre-employment processes (physical exams, drug screens, references, and background checks).
- Conduct new employee orientation, including paperwork collection, issuing tools/equipment, and explaining company policies.
Employee Development & Follow-Up:
- Identify potential skills and talents upon hire and assist in creating development plans for new employees. Forward plans to the HR Manager.
- Assist in conducting new employee follow-ups, document feedback, and make recommendations based on this feedback.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Update the daily Recruiting Report for distribution to the CEO.
- Work with the HR Manager to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, including affirmative action plan compliance.
- Manage applicant files and retention according to company policy.
Other Duties:
- Answer the HR phone when assigned by the HR Manager.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree in Human Resources or higher preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in recruiting preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Professional phone skills with a positive attitude.
- Ability to interview and evaluate candidates at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to travel to job fairs and hiring events as needed, with occasional overnight travel.
Environmental Conditions:
- Work at the Corporate Office in a controlled environment.
- Occasional work in a car or on the phone for necessary appointments.
- Work at various locations as determined by the HR Manager, occasionally in outdoor settings.
