Goal:
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, and implementing of a comprehensive admissions recruitment and selection program at Holy Cross High School. The coordinator works, along with other members of the Admissions team, closely with local elementary and middle schools as well as other organizations to forge meaningful relationships with various schools and programs. In all of his/her functions, the Admissions Coordinator is the primary contact for admissions inquiries to HCHS, oversees all required documents and records that pertain to the admissions process, and promotes and supports Holy Cross High School’s Mission of educating the hearts and minds of young men and women.
Responsibilities:
1. Involved in the drafting and implementation of action steps defined in the HCHS Enrollment Plan focused on the enhancement of potential pools of incoming students and the envisioning and implementation of new initiatives to further expand enrollment.
2. In collaboration with other members of the Admissions team, develop organizational and promotional marketing plans (print, electronic, and other mediums) for programs and initiatives that support and promote the Mission of Holy Cross.
3. Responsible for processing applications and assigning candidates in the admissions database.
4. Responsible for managing an assigned portion of the applicant pool, including timely communication with candidates’ families, collection of academic records, admissions interviews, and guiding families through the registration process if accepted.
5. Participate in the committee review and selection of all candidates, keeping in mind the Mission of Holy Cross High School and the school’s commitment to a diverse student body that demonstrates academic success and the values of a Holy Cross Knight.
6. Participate in developing an appropriate recruiting schedule, including visits to area elementary and middle schools, youth organizations, academic programs, high school fairs, etc. Travel and working after business hours, including nights and occasional weekends, are required during recruitment seasons.
7. Organize and facilitate the program that allows current 8th graders to shadow a current student.
8. In collaboration with other members of the Admissions team, maintain and update the Admissions web pages on a regular basis.
9. Enter and maintain expenses related to the Admissions Department budget.
10. Responsible for the recruitment and organizing of student representatives to further the objectives of the Admissions Department.
11. Responsible for all communication to elementary and middle school constituents for the purpose of recruitment, establishing and maintaining partnerships and relationships.
12. Communicating with potential families utilizing their preferred style of communication whether it is by phone, text, email, or in-person.
12. Handling, scheduling and strategic use of social media for the school as related to admissions.
13. Complete other tasks as assigned by the Director of Admissions and VP-Admissions.
