Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Adhere to the practices and principles of the Evidenced Based Supervised Visit Coaching Model.
- Maintain focus on the child’s safety and having the caregiver meet the child’s needs.
- Address goals related to the reason for the child’s removal from the caregiver.
- Establish pre-visit coaching sessions.
- Ensure that the caregiver/s are actively involved in the planning of the supervised visit.
- Provide coaching strategies during the visit.
- Facilitate a post-visit debriefing.
- Complete all required documentation within the specified time frame.
- When necessary, have a caseload within the Allegheny County In-Home Program and adhere to the requirements of the Family Counselor’s job description.
- Collaborate with OCYF by attending Teaming and Conferencing meetings and court hearings when requested.
- Know and comply with all agency Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
- Follow office and agency HIPAA procedures.
- Maintains knowledge and follows responsibilities mandated by the Child Protective Service Law.
- Attend mandatory training.
- Obtain training related to child development, parenting education, addiction counseling, case management, mental health issues, personal safety, ethical issues, and crisis intervention.
- Adhere to other supervisory requests
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Human Service Field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in Social Services working with children and families.
- Must have Act 33/34 and FBI clearances and valid PA driver’s license
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to engage clients.
- Must be able to recognize signs and symptoms of addiction, mental health, and developmental concerns.
- Advocate for families within the court system
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrates ability and knowledge of basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft office and Office 365.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must own a vehicle and maintain required insurance to provide services to families.
- Must be capable of visiting families in their homes on a flexible schedule, lift small children, infants and transport families in a car when necessary.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
