Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Help clients with mobility and physical exercises as needed.
- Monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams regarding client needs.
- Support clients with dementia care by using appropriate techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with nursing home staff or group home personnel to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as nursing home care, social work, or home community care is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring is highly desirable.
- Experience in memory care or dementia care settings is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties, including lifting and assisting clients as necessary.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Must be able to pass background checks relevant to caregiving positions.
