Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Sr. Revenue Accountant to join our fast-paced, growth-focused finance team. In this critical role, you will be the go-to expert on all things revenue recognition - owning complex SaaS revenue streams under ASC 606, and driving automation across our financial systems. This is a high-impact position where you will take the lead on monthly close, support audit and compliance efforts, and play an integral role in M&A execution and integration. You will collaborate across teams including finance, sales, and operations to help scale our revenue function with precision, speed, and insights. Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition (ASC 606):
Oversee the revenue recognition process for software subscriptions, usage-based, and multi-element arrangements to ensure GAAP compliance and timely reporting. - Billing Operations:
Partner with the customer billing team to ensure accurate invoicing through Zuora, resolving discrepancies and improving operational processes. - Close & Reporting:
Lead the monthly revenue close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis to support internal and external reporting. - Policy Development & Maintenance:
Create, document, and maintain internal policies and procedures related to revenue recognition, billing, and financial reporting to ensure consistency, and accuracy. - System Integration & Automation:
Drive automation initiatives across billing (Zuora), general ledger (Sage), and CRM (Salesforce); identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and data accuracy. - M&A Support:
Support due diligence, financial analysis of target companies, and assist with post-acquisition integration of accounting and billing systems. - Audit & Compliance:
Serve as the primary point of contact for revenue-related audit requests as it relates to preparing supporting documentation and ensuring timely and accurate responses. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with finance, sales, and operations teams to ensure contract terms are aligned with revenue recognition policies and controls.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on revenue recognition in a SaaS or technology-driven environment
- In-depth understanding of ASC 606 and complex revenue models including subscription and usage-based contracts
- Experience with Zuora, Sage, and Salesforce is strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with a strong ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CPA-track preferred
- Experience in public accounting or M&A due diligence is a plus
Location:
- Tampa, FL office
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Multiple video meetings each day where web camera use is required.
Schedule:
- Full time, 40 hours each week
- Monday through Friday, core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM locally with occasional flexibility for collaboration across time zones or to meet critical deadlines.
