Job Summary
Homeland is partnering with a leading manufacturer of storm protection products to hire an HR Generalist. In this role, you will play a key part in communicating regulations and policies to employees, supporting the HR team, addressing employee concerns, and managing critical HR functions such as file maintenance, database management, personnel actions, performance evaluations, and tenure records. The ideal candidate will have expertise in employee relations, labor law, and regulatory compliance within Human Resources. You will handle administrative tasks, assist with staffing, and support HR operations, requiring strong multitasking skills as priorities shift. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary backup to the Corporate Recruiter, assisting with all hiring needs
- Prepare necessary paperwork and schedules to ensure a smooth onboarding process, coordinating with various departments to create a positive first-day experience for new hires
- Handle administrative tasks related to onboarding and new-hire orientations, including data entry in HRIS and ensuring accuracy and compliance through audits
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR files and records
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of the employee handbook and directory, contributing to policy development
- Provide guidance and support to employees, help resolve conflicts, and facilitate communication to improve employee engagement
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, staying informed about legal changes and assisting the director with implementing updates to HR policies
- Support managers with employee performance issues by helping to determine appropriate actions, preparing written warnings or performance improvement plans, and advising when separations may be necessary, while working with HR leadership and employment counsel as needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Paycom is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field
- Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, strong ethics, and cultural awareness
- Strong problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge of HR procedures and policies
- Advanced proficiency in HRIS with the ability to quickly learn new technical systems
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to resolve issues proactively
- Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all situations
- Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Highly organized and capable of managing time effectively while working independently or within a team
- Resourceful and detail-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with national employment laws and regulations

Salary : $54,080 - $70,720
