Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Recreation Coordinator at Homeward Bound in Plymouth, MN. The Recreation Coordinator will be responsible for planning and organizing recreational activities for individuals with developmental disabilities, supervising recreational programs, coordinating indoor and outdoor recreation events, and ensuring effective communication with participants, volunteers and staff.
Qualifications
- Two years of experience event / activity planning required, preferably for people with developmental disabilities
- Some post-secondary education preferred
- Recreation planning and organizing skills
- Minnesota driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lead and influence others to promote an atmosphere of fun and community inclusion.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent judgement, creative problem-solving, and adaptability.
- Optimistic demeanor.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both orally, and in writing, with individuals served, family members, case managers, guardians and employees.
