Description
The job of Student Supervision is established to ensure the safety and well-being of students, to perform supportive tasks outside of student instruction, and for management of student behavior.
Essential Functions
- Greets visitors, parents, students, and staff in a welcoming manner.
- Supervises students in a variety of settings to include but is not limited to field trips, playground, classrooms, hallways, lunch room, restrooms, health room, offices, bus, gymnasium, parking lot, etc.
- Supervises safe use of playground equipment; periodically checks equipment for wear or damage, alerts appropriate staff member for needed repairs.
- Monitors and mediates student disputes; maintains order, and determines and carries out appropriate redirection according to district policy and procedures.
- Ensures students follow rules and expectation in all areas of the building and grounds; instructs students in proper behavior.
- Assists with setting up the cafeteria for meal services, cleans up spills, wipes tables, and dismisses students to recess.
- Performs supportive tasks for the classroom teacher; corrects daily work, records grades, makes copies, laminates, etc.
- Displays a professional and ethical image at all times. These expectations include a high degree of confidentiality, courtesy, cooperation, positive attitude, reliability, punctuality, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Arrives to work on time and maintains regular and consistent attendance.
- Consistently adheres to work schedule.
- Participates in team meetings for the purpose of collaborating and sharing information.
- Performs other duties as assigned by administrator(s).
- Be at least 18 years of age; and
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; and
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance
- Preferred previous successful student supervision experience, working with a diverse population of students.
