Employment Services Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of My Choice Employment model and implementation of its day-to-day operations; principles of “Employment First” will set the foundation for My Choice Employment. Services will utilize person-centered planning and supports, including the use of Customized Employment approach when indicated
Responsible for hiring, firing, and supervising My Choice Employment Specialists and Job Coaches. Provide orientation and ongoing in-service training as required by agency policy. Schedule work assignments and coordinate service delivery at all My Choice Employment job sites and services locations
Serve as central point of entry for individuals referred for and admission/enrollment into My Choice Employment services. Ensure that each new person served receives a full orientation to service
Ensure positive customer relations and education activities through speaking about and promoting My Choice Employment and “Employment First” to prospective clients and family members, referral sources/case managers, funders, employers, school/education personnel, civic groups, business groups/organizations, and others. Conduct customer satisfaction surveys at least annually
Financial accountability for balanced department budget. Explore new funding alternatives and implement creative methods of funding services. Pursue grant opportunities to additionally fund services and create opportunities for people
Conduct (directly or through staff positions supervised) community-based assessments with individuals, which may include: Develop initial assessment plan, job site development, work site training, job coaching, support, assessment, gathering assessment/evaluation data, perform testing as determined necessary, chair career/employment planning meeting of the individual, write final report/employment profile
Requirements:
BA or BS degree required (preferably in Rehabilitation counseling, Human Services, Sociology, Psychology or Human Services
Three years of supervisory experience
Ability to teach, train and motivate others to perform to the best of their ability
Strong interpersonal/counseling skills to work with clients individually and in groups
Excellent writing, editorial and communication skills
Skill in Behavior Management
Clearance from all applicable background checks as required by service standards
Possess a working knowledge of person-centered planning and person-centered supports
Proficient with computers, specifically in Microsoft software and applications.
