What are the responsibilities and job description for the Violence Prevention Specialist position at Hopeful Horizons?
Overview
The Violence Prevention Specialist will provide community-based prevention programs and public awareness events within our five-county service area to implement effective outcomes that will lead to ending the culture of violence.

Job Scope
- Primary role will be to coordinate and facilitate youth prevention programs such as the Women Inspiring Strength and Empowerment (WISE) Clubs, Men of Strength (MOST) Clubs, Girl's Circle, and Council for Boys and Young Men curriculum.
- The Violence Prevention Specialist will coordinate and execute violence prevention public awareness events within counties we serve.
-The Violence Prevention Specialist will provide multi session educational workshops on topics dealing with bullying, dating violence, domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and healthy relationship/boundary setting.
-The Violence Prevention Specialist will implement programs and classes to educate middle to high school age students in schools within Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton, Hampton and Allendale (occasionally) Counties.
Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in human services, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
-Strong computer and organizational skills.
-Excellent public relations, oral and written communication skills including public speaking.
-Must become a SC Certified Victim Service Provider (VSP) within one year of employment.
-Must possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record and willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area of Beaufort, Jasper, & Colleton counties.
- Salary starting at $38,000 based on qualifications and experience.
