POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying, recording (data entry), preparing orders for shipments (packaging) and routing all incoming shipments to end user.
Experience using UPS & FedEx Portals is required.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILIES
Maintains records, prepares shipments.
Prepare shipping documents and mailing labels and make sure that orders have been filled correctly.
Wrapping or packing the goods in shipping containers.
Address and label packages.
Look up and compute freight or postal rates.
Record the weight and cost of each shipment.
Furnish information and shipments to other parts of the company, such as the accounting department.
Once a shipment is checked and ready to go, shipping clerks may move the goods from the plant - sometimes by forklift- to the shipping dock and direct their loading.
Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Determine whether orders have been filled correctly by verifying incoming shipments against the original order and the accompanying bill of lading or invoice.
Record shipments and condition of its content.
Record incoming products/manually enter the information into a computer.
Communicate with appropriate departments.
Check shipments for any discrepancies in quantity, price, and discounts.
Route/move shipments to the proper department, warehouse section, or stockroom.
Arrange for adjustments with shippers whenever merchandise is lost or damaged.
May control all receiving platform operations, such as scheduling of trucks, recording of shipments and handling of damaged goods.
Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Preform receiving quality inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to understand and follow English instructions
Ability to read a blueprint
Good basic math skills
Basic computer skills
Must be able to read a tape measure, dial calipers, and micrometer
Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
Tow motor experience required.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time
