This is an entry-level position and can be full or part-time based on your availability.
- Schedule:
- Full-Time - 5 day work week, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:00pm, Occasional Saturdays may be needed and Sundays off
- Part-Time - flexible scheduling to be discussed during interview
- Compensation: entry level, hourly rate $16-18/hr based on experience
- Greets incoming service customers and directs them to a service advisor for check-in
- Performs vehicle walk-around inspection
- Preps customer vehicle with protective items: mats, covers and tags
- Retrieves customer vehicles at drop-off and pick-up
- Drives vehicles from service lane to parking lot or service bays as needed
- Maintains appearance of service drive and keeps the service lot clean, neat and orderly
- Prepares supplies for vehicle check-in

POSITION SUMMARY
The Service Valet is responsible for assisting guests in all aspects of the service process involving our service drive and parking lot.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Service Valet is accountable for performing the duties and responsibilities described below. The list, however, is not necessarily an exhaustive description of the duties and responsibilities associated with the job.
Cars Pulling in for Service -
- Greet the customer with a smile – “Welcome to Hoselton!. I would be happy to get you started for your service appointment.” Thank the customer for their patronage.
- Tag customer’s keys with appropriate tag and place key in cup holder of vehicle, while in vehicle, glance at vehicle mileage.
- Record tag # and current mileage on the vehicle check-in sheet.
- With clip board and check-in sheet, record vehicle vin # and date of when inspection sticker is due.
- Talk with the customer and explain you are going to do a couple simple checks of vehicle.
- While checking wiper blades, ask them if they are having any issues with their wipers clearing the windshield – record data on the check–in sheet. Pass or fail.
- With a tire tread gage, check drivers side front and rear tire tread measurements. Record results on check-in sheet.
- At the same time as checking tires, glance at vehicle for any pre-existing damages to vehicle. Proceed to the rear of vehicle and passenger side of vehicle and record any notated damage.
- Give sheet to customer and lead them into the write up area and introduce them to the service advisor. Inform advisor to notate the alignment check results.
- Drive vehicles from service drive to rear parking lot, hang keys onto service board for technicians.
Cars Pulling Out After Service has been Completed –
- Inspect vehicles for grease stains.
- Vacuum drivers and passengers front floor areas, clean floor mats and if applicable wipe down dash and steering wheel on every vehicle.
- Park vehicles in front of building for customer pick up.
Service Drive Responsibilities –
- Keep service drive clean.
- Sweep, spray down and squeegee floor daily.
- Empty garbage from garbage bins.
- Set tire pressures on cars, replace wipers, etc.
- Wash floor with soap, scrub and squeegee dry. Weekly
- Create key tags for vehicle check in.
Shop duties –
- Help keep shop clean from trash. Empty tires and cardboard daily.
- Refill washer fluid jugs for technicians.
Office Duties –
- Keep all windows and walls clean.
- Sweep up large debris when needed.
Miscellaneous –
- Driving cars to set monitors.
- Picking customer cars up from homes when needed.
- Shuttling customers as needed.
- Snow removal, salting slippery areas.
- Help with various tasks upon Service manager/advisor requests.
EXPECTATIONS
- Using customers first name whenever possible.
- Making eye contact, smiling and acknowledging any guest within a 10-foot radius.
- Use floor mats, seat covers, steering wheel covers to maintain cleanliness of guest vehicles.
- Maintaining awareness of, and complying with, all Hoselton safety regulations and processes.
- Maintain high work standards
- Adhere to Service Department Processes and Procedures, including the dress code

WORK SCHEDULE
Full time employees are regularly scheduled for 40 hours within the confines of our operating hours. Overtime as needed and approved by the manager. All employees are required to take meal breaks in accordance with New York state law.
