ABOUT HOT BREAD KITCHEN
Hot Bread Kitchen offers small business development programs, culinary skills training, and job placement, bolstered by individualized wraparound supportive services. Our small business program, HBK Incubates, supports women entrepreneurs of color as they transform their food businesses into sustainable income sources. Culinary fundamentals, our entry-level culinary training provides access to high-quality jobs for those starting their careers in the food industry, while our upskilling offerings enable incumbent workers to gain further skills leading to higher wages and career advancement. We use an ecosystem approach to support our members by working alongside our network of 200 food employer partners for job placement, and 250 nonprofit and government partners for member referrals and community engagement.
THE OPPORTUNITY
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Coordination
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all small business programs, ensuring smooth execution and timely implementation of initiatives.
- Monitor and respond to all entrepreneur inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Facilitate connections between entrepreneurs and Hot Bread Kitchen resources, including but not limited to customized mentors/technical assistance volunteers.
- Support all Small Business program operations as directed by the Senior Director of Small Business Programs.
Collaborate with the Brand and Development Teams to identify storytelling opportunities and create engaging content.
Community Engagement
- Partner with the Community Engagement Team with direct outreach for all Small Business programs.
Respond to all inquiries about the Small Business program, guide applicants through the application process, and provide support in completing their applications.
General Program Support
- Ensure all program data is accurately input into Salesforce and tracked in a centralized system.
Identify members for site visits, and speaking engagements, and facilitate internal and external partner access to market opportunities.
- 1-2 years experience in program coordination or project management, including managing tasks across multiple stages, and providing administrative support in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment; experience working with small businesses, is a plus.
- Has a deep passion for Hot Bread Kitchen's mission and vision to advance economic mobility for women utilizing New York City's vibrant food industry.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications
- Enjoys working with the community and having first-hand interactions with members.
- Extremely organized and attentive to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Thrives in a fast-paced and energetic team atmosphere with ambitious deadlines; successful team members are self-directed, with effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to simultaneously manage several priorities.
- General computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google platforms, and productivity software; experience with Salesforce experience a plus.
- A working interest in understanding the barriers facing immigrants and women of color in starting a business.

Salary : $60,000 - $62,000
