We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the timely processing of accounts payable and receivable. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company’s financial health by maintaining accurate books and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process and track accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that all accounts are accurate and up to date.
- Payroll Processing: Assist with processing payroll and maintaining payroll records, including benefits and deductions.
- Invoicing: Generate and send invoices to clients, track payment status, and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor company expenses and assist with cost tracking to ensure budgets are being adhered to.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with preparing tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax, in coordination with accountants or tax advisors.
- Filing & Documentation: Organize and maintain financial records, ensuring proper filing of all supporting documentation.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial records and documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related role.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of payroll systems and tax filing procedures.
- Experience with bank reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., AIPB, QuickBooks Certified) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
