Position Overview

We’re seeking an Indianapolis-based Graphic Artist (more than just a “designer”) with professional experience producing original digital artwork and high-caliber designs for print, web, and social media. You’ll collaborate closely with others to define and evolve the HotBox Pizza visual identity—from one-of-a-kind illustrations to engaging digital campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Illustration: Conceptualize and create original art that captures the HotBox Pizza vibe across various marketing channels.
• Print & Digital Design: Develop eye-catching materials such as menus, packaging, store signage, digital ads, and social media graphics.
• Brand Development: Help shape the HotBox Pizza look and feel by producing cohesive visual elements that tell our story.
• Website Updates & Maintenance: Use WordPress to update visuals, graphics, and layouts for ongoing site improvements.
• Photography & Editing (Preferred): Capture basic product shots and lifestyle images, then edit them to align with brand standards.
• Collaboration: Work with the marketing team to brainstorm unique campaigns, plan photoshoots or illustration concepts, and bring big ideas to life.
• Project & File Management: Maintain organized project files, adhere to brand guidelines, and ensure designs are delivered on time.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience in graphic design
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) with a focus on original illustration.
• Strong Portfolio (digital) demonstrating illustrative work, brand development, and layout design across digital and print media.
• Understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
• Experience with WordPress (or similar CMS platforms) is a strong plus.
• Photography Skills are a strong plus (from shooting to basic photo editing).
• Excellent Communication Skills to discuss ideas, gather feedback, and collaborate effectively.
• Detail-Oriented and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.

Extra Credit for

• Animation or Motion Graphics (After Effects, Premiere)
• Hand-lettering or other unique artistic techniques
• Basic HTML/CSS knowledge
