Position Overview
Hotel Elliott, a historic boutique hotel in downtown Astoria, seeks an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our operations. This role offers the opportunity to manage a distinctive property while contributing to the vibrant tourism industry of the Oregon Coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all hotel operations, ensuring consistent service quality and guest satisfaction across our historic property
- Drive revenue growth through strategic management and marketing initiatives, with particular attention to seasonal tourism patterns
- Develop and execute annual budgets and business plans for the property
- Lead and mentor our team of 40 employees across departments including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services
- Oversee capital improvement projects and maintain vendor relationships
- Represent Hotel Elliott in the Astoria community and coastal tourism industry
- Spearhead customer service initiatives and manage guest feedback systems
- Ensure effective financial management and reporting
- Direct recruitment, training, and development of key staff members
Qualifications
- 4 years of hotel management experience (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in business or hospitality management (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven success in revenue generation and management, particularly in seasonal markets
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Demonstrated excellence in team leadership and staff development
- Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
- Strong community engagement skills
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and hotel management software
