ABOUT HOTEL SAINT VINCENT (STV):
Located in a landmark 1861 building in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Hotel Saint Vincent is a 75-room hotel from Austin-based hospitality group McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality, a hotel started in 2021 by industry veterans Larry McGuire, Tom Moorman, and Liz Lambert. An architectural icon in the Lower Garden District since its conception in the 1860s, the red brick Beaux Arts-era style building was originally founded as The Saint Vincent’s Infant Asylum by Irish immigrant Margaret Haughery, a bakery owner and philanthropist celebrated for her humanitarian services in New Orleans. Keeping much of the original architecture, Hotel Saint Vincent honors the property’s storied past and Margaret’s legacy through a highly considered restoration—incorporating an elegant, modern design that complements the property’s historic character.

Hotel Saint Vincent is looking for an Expo to join our team at San Lorenzo, our fine dining establishment. The right candidate will facilitate collaboration between our kitchen and wait staff. If you’re interested in providing an excellent dining experience, we’d like to meet you. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
- Act as the contact point between the Front of the House and Back of the House staff
- Communicate food orders to chefs paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies)
- Assist the wait staff with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils, and napkins
- Ensure food is served by safety standards (e.g., proper temperature)
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils
Qualifications
- Experience as a Food Expeditor or similar entry-level role in a restaurant
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
