SUMMARY
The part-time Front Desk Agent/Barista is responsible for productive, efficient and smooth day to day Front Desk and café operations ensuring exceptional customer service and total guest satisfaction by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED
Front Desk duties-
- Warmly greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests.
- Issues room key and escort instructions to Valet
- Transmits and receives telephone messages.
- Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Keeps accurate records of room availability and guests' accounts via hotel software, myHMS.
- Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests.
- Makes and confirms reservations.
- Correctly posts charges such as room, food, liquor, telephone and gift certificates, to correct account in myHMS and Aloha.
- Makes restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arranges for tours or coordinates guest needs and requests.
- Makes or retrieves non-alcoholic beverages or snacks for guests as required
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Maintains the appearance of the Sundry and assists in the sales of retail items.
Barista duties:
- Sells and serves products to customers in a courteous and friendly manner
- Safely handles all hot and cold drink preparation
- Accurately rings up sales orders and counts back change to customers, following all safe cash handling and credit card procedures
- Reports all customer complaints to a manager
- Responds pro-actively to prevent customer service situations
- Answers customer questions regarding products, service or environment
- Restocks shelves when necessary
- Routinely cleans and organizes the coffee bar, pastry display, seating area, and Sundry shop
- Maintains a high level of motivation to ensure quality and consistent product
- Follows all company drink recipes and procedures
- Sanitation practices to the standard of Covid-19 guidance
- Must have or be willing to obtain a California Food Handlers Card and LEAD Certificate
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year experience in a customer service or related position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of Property Management Software (myHMS) and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook and be able to successfully navigate the internet.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Must have or be willing to obtain a California Food Handlers Card and LEAD Certificate
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel (repetitive motions such as typing). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (i.e. guest luggage).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- The work environment is characteristic of a resort/hotel atmosphere.
