Position Summary: As a Hotel Maintenance Technician, you will use your experience to play a crucial role in performing routine and preventive maintenance, conduct repairs of hotel facilities and equipment throughout the hotel, as well as identify and repair common electrical problems, while ensuring an attractive and comfortable environment for guests and staff. You will be working closely with different members of our team, so you will need to be quick on your feet and have an engaging attitude.
Scheduling: This is a Full-Time position that requires open availability to work both AM and PM shifts, various days of the week - schedules will change weekly and will include a combination of weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on business demands.
Specifically, this role includes these primary responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on hotel facilities and equipment, including guest rooms, common areas, kitchen, and mechanical systems.
- Installing, repair and maintaining all types of wiring (electrical, data, communication, etc.), and lighting/intercom systems.
- Execute the setup of electrical wiring and power needs per specifications for events, vendor exhibits and meeting spaces.
- Perform diagnostics on electrical components and/or controls of machinery or other commercial equipment.
- Troubleshoot issues and repairs related to electrical components on equipment, appliances, and HVAC system.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency, immediately repairing or reporting on mechanical, structural or safety issues in and around the hotel.
- Respond with a sense of urgency to maintenance requests from guests and staff, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks performed, including dates, descriptions, and any parts used.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and provide room status updates to minimize disruptions to hotel operations
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations, following lock-out/tag out and other safety measures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Supportive Functions: The hotel functions seven (7) days a week and twenty-four (24) hours per day. Due to the seasonal nature and business hours of a hotel, candidates must realize it may be necessary to move an employee from their accustomed shift to meet business demands. All associates are expected to perform any other duties as requested by management to support other departments and/or operational requirements.

- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to effectively handle problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as they arise in a busy environment.
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Able to adapt to unexpected changes, making quick and effective decisions regarding maintenance and repairs in high-pressure situations with a sense of urgency.
- Moves materials and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. regularly.
- Capable of Working in dirty, dusty, or uncomfortable surroundings, including being exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, and hazardous materials depending on the tasks performed.
- Capable of remaining in a standing position, either stationary or walking, for duration of shift.
- Ability to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; including working from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools and supplies and reach in all directions, regularly overhead.
- Move through various areas of the hotel, including mechanical rooms, guest rooms, public areas, and outside areas, with frequent and repeated climbing up and down stairs and ladders, throughout duration of shift.
- Capable of frequent and repeated lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, and extending arms fully.
- Able to strictly observe and adhere to all safety regulations and standards, and that they are being followed throughout the hotel.
Professional Licenses/Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in HVAC, electrical, or building maintenance preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or certification in a related field preferred.
Experience
- Must have a minimum of (2) years of experience in building equipment maintenance and operation, with at least (1) year of verifiable hands-on electrical experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting, is required.
- Experience in all maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and painting.
- Experience and safety knowledge using basic hand and power tools, voltage testers, multimeters, and cutters.

- All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
- Uniforms will be provided, and guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
