Job Summary
Ensure that communication, clerical, and administrative support functions of the facility are completed in a timely, effective manner. Support the Community in various departments with identified needs as directed by the Community Assisted Living Director.
Accountabilities
- General
- Model the Culture Change Principles of the Eden Alternative.
- Understand and adhere to Resident Confidentiality and HIPPA regulations.
- Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required.
- Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community Electronic Health Record software.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community policies and procedures.
- Solve basic mathematical procedures.
- Maintain the highest degree of personal and professional integrity.
- Know and honor Resident Rights.
- Communicate with residents in a respectful manner.
- Respond to resident family/visitor requests in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers.
- Resident Care
- Regularly review, follow, and adhere to residents’ service plans.
- Report changes in resident status, health or otherwise to supervisor.
- Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
- Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Greeting all visitors to the community in person and by phone.
- Answer the telephone in a professional manner and check voicemails daily.
- Manage phone system for Community.
- Perform administrative assistant duties filing, sorting, copying, and scheduling appointments.
- COVID-19 Screening.
- Create weekly menu worksheets for the dietary department.
- Assemble new resident files and maintain overflow documentation filing system.
- Greet and provide assistance to residents.
- Separate and deliver mail to residents.
- Open and distribute Hover Community mail.
- Order office supplies for AL and IL office staff.
- Provide assistance to leadership (this will include a variety of tasks).
- Make copies for various packets.
- Be able to perform a variety of tasks using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Maintain office equipment.
- Maintain a current file/listing of elders by name and room number, emergency phone members of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel, etc.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the community.
- Attend and participate in community mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized workstation and front lobby.
- Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours.
- Able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs.
- Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
- Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year experience in a senior care or healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
- Ability and willingness to relate effectively with a variety of individuals.
- Desire to work with seniors in a residential setting.
- Demonstrated favorable work history through reference checks and background checks.
- Ability to complete specific tasks from general instructions.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment.
- Ability to use the computer: Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Minimum Pay, (DOE) Depending on Experience: $18.00 per hour
