POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for administrative support work performing tasks in support of Public Information through social media and Howard County Government websites.

CLASS DESCIPTION:
Performs professional level administrative work, which may include supervisory responsibility, under general supervision from an administrative or technical superior. Work includes carrying out administrative and technical tasks related to administrative support, public information, and purchasing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in the gathering and creation of multi-media content, including infographics, photographs, and video, to be distributed via digital information channels.
  • Assists in publishing public information messages through social media and Howard County Government websites.
  • Assists offices and departments in the development of multimedia content for Howard County Government websites.
  • Participates in the gathering and creation of infographics and visual aids for media events. Assists in audio-visual equipment set-up to satisfy on-site and remote event needs.
  • Produces multi-media and Power Point presentations for the Executive branch.
SUPERVISORY RESPONBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory duties.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS, MATHEMATICAL SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before individual employees of organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and dates. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
