Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant collaborates with various departments and accounting groups to deliver timely and precise financial information that supports the company’s performance goals. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Accounting, this role also involves reviewing the work of other team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly journal entries for month-end reporting deadlines.
- Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepares bank reconciliations and posts cash entries.
- Prepares monthly financial analytics.
- Prepares monthly roll forwards.
- Prepares, maintains, and adheres to GAAP accounting policies.
- Documents accounting policies and processes.
- Responsible for maintaining and reviewing contracts and leases.
- Assists with the review of staff accountant(s), including reconciliations and analytics.
- Assists with the annual audit process for both interim and year-end.
- Assists with the preparation of monthly financials for Senior Management.
- Assists with internal SOX documentation and compliance, including understanding internal controls.
- Creates ad hoc reports for Management.
- Prepares monthly roll forwards.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Possesses strong computer skills in MS Excel; experience with SAP and consolidation software is desired.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ensures adherence to communicated schedules and deadlines.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Communicates professionally and maintains good working relationships with all employees.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- 3 years related experience.
Certifications:
- CPA or CPA Candidate preferred.
Travel:
Travel required locally or long-distance up to 20% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
Equipment:
Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to the position.
Mental and Physical Demands:
General office and sedentary. Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Walking, standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing; occasional: lifting/carrying, pulling/pushing up to 30 pounds.
Maintain emotional control under stress, work with interruptions and deadlines.
May work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Environmental Factors:
Occasional exposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Occasional exposure to weather related conditions when working in an outdoor environment.
