Job Purpose
To move animals through the shelter as quickly, efficiently, responsibly and humanely as possible.
Duties and Responsibilities
- From the intake of an animal all the way through the Live Outcome
- (Adoption, Reclaim, Transfer Partner) of an animal, collect and record data beneficial to the LO of the pet.
- Provide customers (citizens reclaiming, adopters, transfer partners) all the needed information for a successful placement.
- Record information in ASM to aid in reclaims and allows organization to charge the appropriate entity.
- Provide exceptional customer service in person, on the phone, and via e- mail to all visitors
- Handle payments made by visitors, donations, etc. into Point of Sale system.

- Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of good customer relations practices.
- Knowledge of animal services and animal related programs.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in handling conflict and uncertain situations.
- Skill in observation and classification of animals.
- Skill in using computers and related software applications.
- Skill in information analysis and problem solving.
- Skill in safely handling animals, including those with unknown temperament.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.

- Ability to make change for cash accurately.
- Ability to quickly recognize and interpret animal signaling.
Working conditions
Shelter atmosphere is often very loud with a variety of activities all taking place at once. Shelter customers are often upset, and CSR must be able to calm customers and diffuse tense situations. CSR must often deal with animals from unknown backgrounds and be able to handle them safely. There is a potential, while working in the shelter environment, to be exposed to zoonotic diseases.
There is also the possibility of being bitten or scratched by an animal with unknown vaccination history.
Physical requirements
Must be able to sit and or stand for prolonged period of time. Must be able to handle a variety of animals, including cats and large dogs. Must be able to assist with vaccinations and implantation of microchips. May be asked to administer medications to animals.

Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
