Description

At Hubbard-Hall, we’ve spent 175 years helping manufacturers get better results with less—less chemistry, less cost, and less complexity. Headquartered in Connecticut, with manufacturing operations in South Carolina and Michigan, we combine deep industry expertise with best-in-class logistics to support both our surface finishing and distribution customers.

Now, we’re looking for a hands-on Controller to help drive our continued success. If you’re a forward-thinking finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, growing company, this is an opportunity to make a real impact. Reporting to the COO, you’ll play a key role in our digital transformation efforts, streamline financial operations, and lead a strong finance team in a lean, continuously improving environment.

What You’ll Do:

•    Partner with the COO and department leaders to enhance financial strategies and improve operational efficiency.
•    Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
•    Lead the digital transformation of the finance department, implementing new systems and automation tools to drive efficiency.
•    Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
•    Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and optimize business performance.
•    Manage 401(k) administration, payroll oversight, business insurance, and external audit relationships.
•    Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively applying best practices to enhance financial processes.
•    Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.

What We’re Looking For:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA a plus.
•    10–15 years of progressive financial experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
•    A track record of developing finance teams, driving change, and improving processes.
•    Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
•    Experience implementing and optimizing financial systems and automation tools.
•    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.
•    A hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
•    Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
