Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a variety of forklifts and other heavy equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in our warehouse or distribution center. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of materials.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and transport material to and from storage areas, machines and loading to ensure that internal and external customer’s
materials with related schedules are met.
- Operate various types of forklifts, including reach trucks, order pickers, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner to facilitate the movement of all materials and products.
- Load and unload materials from trucks or containers
- Stack and store merchandise in designated areas
- Perform inventory control activities, such as counting and verifying stock
- Inspect forklifts and other equipment for safety and maintenance purposes
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with warehouse management to ensure efficient operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or similar role
- Valid forklift certification or license
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and materials handling techniques
- Familiarity with distribution center processes is a plus
- Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory control activities
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively
