Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will show a history of ethical business practices, trustworthiness, and a desire for results. We need a bookkeeper that cares about accuracy and is constantly seeking optimization and saving opportunities. This position involves a variety of routine and non-routine accounting tasks, requiring a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Duties include, but are not limited to, managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger functions, and ensuring consistency between operational and accounting system financial data.
Duties
A/R
- Ensure invoices generated by operations personnel are reflected within the accounting system
- Receive payments and update both accounting and operations management systems
A/P
- Enter purchase orders and vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding to accounts and customers.
- Reconcile vendor statements monthly to maintain accurate balances.
- Process payments to vendors by the 10th of each month.
- Monitor open purchase orders and ensure timely entry of accounts payable.
Payroll
- Approve employee timesheets using TS Sheets and QuickBooks.
- Process weekly payroll for employees.
- Handle payroll tax payments and ensure they are processed timely.
- Prepare quarterly payroll tax forms.
General Bookkeeping
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Assist in budgeting processes and financial forecasting.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit cards, and supplier accounts.
- Scan and record receipts.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
While the following responsibilities provide a comprehensive overview of the role, it should be noted that other tasks may be assigned as needed to support the company’s objectives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within corporate accounting.
- Very comfortable with technology. We are a multi-location company with management staff in multiple locations. You must be comfortable working in a digital environment using cloud technologies.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounts payable, technical accounting, payroll processing, and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
