HVAC Sales Engineer
Based in Mahwah, NJ, Hughes Environmental Engineering is one of the largest and most well-regarded HVAC service and engineering firms in our area. We are a mid-sized, family- owned business with 95 employees, and have been in business since 1935. As we continue our projected growth this year, we are seeking to add an additional Sales Engineer to our team.
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for securing high-quality, negotiated design-build HVAC and other mechanical projects to be performed by our current field staff. The ideal target HVAC project job size is between $50K to $1 million, and our geographical area is within 90 minutes of New York City. Hughes is committed to providing the necessary training and support to ensure success in this role.
Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with entire sales team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
· Communicate with customers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
· Consistently prepare and deliver technical presentations to explain products and services to existing and prospective customers.
· Effectively create and present proposals and quotations.
· Increase business opportunities across all assigned accounts.
· Maintain excellent customer relations.
· Negotiate contracts when necessary.
· Qualify opportunities and clarify the scope of the solution.
· Provide post-sale support through the coordination of subcontractors, equipment and accessory vendors, and internal project coordination in a team environment.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline.
· A proven track record of independently performing load calculations and all required technical expertise to design, sell, and deliver a variety of HVAC projects.
· 2 years’ experience in the HVAC industry and/or mechanical engineering.
· Low temperature refrigeration experience is helpful but not required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; CAD. Revit is a plus.

Physical demands and work environment:
The employee will normally work in an office environment, but visits to job sites may require inspections on a building’s roof and use of a ladder, as well as exposure to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This includes heat, cold and humidity. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach with hands and arms, speak, and hear.

Compensation:
75K-85K base salary plus commission
