SUMMARY
Create and maintain a strong online presence for our company. The role is to implement online marketing strategies through social media accounts. As a Social media coordinator, it is required to develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract more customers/donations and promote our cause. The Social Media Coordinator will be required to collect animal data to develop stories and content to accurately depict the HSMC’s mission. Ultimately, the coordinator will be able to increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies. Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner. Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of the HR management team, and in group presentations and meetings. Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Researching audience preferences and discover current trends
· Creating engaging text, image and video content
· Designing posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and creating buzz around new animals and needs
· Attend all big events as scheduled and perform live video feeds to drum up audience interaction.
· Measure web traffic and monitor search engine optimization
· Stay up to date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
· Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to inquiries
· Report on online reviews and feedback
· Develop an optimal posting schedule
· Oversee social media accounts’ layout
· Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers/donations, like promotions and competition.
· Creating and distributing documents
· Compiling reports on social media analytics to report progress and engagement to the management team.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Strong knowledge for social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, and “X”.
· Strong story telling skills.
· Compassion for animals.
· Becoming proficient in donor management software within the first 90 days of employment.
· Strong graphic design skills and proficient in using “Canva”, a graphic design software, within the first 90 days of employment.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Computer literate: Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.
· Flexibility, ability to manage multiple tasks.
· The ability to remain pleasant and calm even in stressful situations.
· Able to work flexible hours and weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Lifting and moving dogs and cages, frequent movement, including but not limited to, standing, walking, stooping, carrying heavy loads, movement of cages, restraining active dogs.
· Exposure to dangerous, diseased, frightened, and injured dogs.
· Working with strong cleaning agents on wet surfaces.
· Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
· Work is performed in an animal shelter. There is a potential for exposure to environmental factors such as temperature variations, high noise levels, zoonotic diseases, animal waste, strong odors, hazardous chemicals or chemical materials requiring OSHA Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), anesthetics, sharp objects, and potential hostile persons and/or dangerous and unpredictable animals.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
