What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at Humanities Foundation?
Humanities Foundation hosts a three-week summer enrichment program called the “Pinckney Group” Summer Camp Program for youth residents. The program offers an array of activities in arts and crafts, sports and recreation, and science and technology, as well as educational tours and mentoring. The program was established in response to the merciless acts upon the Emanuel Nine of the Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, and is dedicated to the memory of Reverend Clementa Pinckney. Reverend Pinckney was a member of the South Carolina Senate, representing the 45th District, and a strong supporter of education and youth development here in South Carolina.

Must be 18 or older
Childcare and Youth Programmatic Experience
Teachers are a Plus!
Camp Dates
June 30 - July 18, 2025
M-F 8:30 - 5:30
N. Charleston, SC
Responsibilities:
- Interact with campers on a daily basis to deliver age appropriate programs and activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety around the campus.
- Be a leader to the campers.
- Have the ability to deal with different personalities.
- Teach skills to campers in areas such as arts, crafts, and sports.
- Lead groups of students throughout the day across various activities.
- Ensure the safety of campers while at day camp.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $18.00 per hour
