What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at The Little Sage School LLC?
We are currently searching for a warm, organized, and outgoing individual to fill a seasonal position as a summer camp counselor, alongside our main camp leader. The position will be part time through the weeks of June 2nd - August 4th. Summer camp will consist of 12-24 school aged children (ages 5-10). We are looking for a teacher who is willing to help with dismissal, cleaning, and end of the day tasks as well as assisting with: planning, prepping lessons, communication with parents via our school app and whatever else is needed for summer planning. Someone willing to be active and have FUN with the campers! We go on 1 field trip a week and have a gym that we will spend most of our time in. Must be flexible with hours within reason (camp hours are from 8:00am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday) and great with classroom management! Must arrive by 7:45 to prep for morning. Closed July 2-4 for 4th of July break. Great for a college student that wants to have fun with a great group of elementary children and make extra money for the summer! Searching for 2 camp lead teachers to help with the day, approximately 35-40 hours each week.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Implementing the daily program for the summer
- Preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Help with the general housekeeping tasks.
- Maintain a neat and organized classroom
- Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene
- Report supplies needed to the Director
- Attend mandatory staff meeting/training
- Performs related duties as assigned
- Communicate with parents
- Planning active and fun activities
- Plan weekly field trips
- Assist in driving for field trips
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping
- Have mobility required to ensure the safety of the children
- Work with children on the floor
- Work outdoors in any variety of weather
- Perform light duty cleaning
- Fully capable to have visual or hearing capabilities consistent with Child Licensing
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and preferred one year of experience related to early childhood education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Must hold or be able to obtain a current FBI fingerprint background check. Pay will be based on amount of experience and education earned in this particular field.
