Key Responsibilities
- Architect and execute the public relations strategy for Huntington’s personal, business and wealth lines of business, aligned with corporate and brand messaging.
- Drive proactive media campaigns, thought leadership, and external communications efforts to enhance the bank’s reputation and brand recognition.
- Secure media coverage for consumer banking initiatives, product launches, and corporate milestones.
- Provide counsel and guidance to senior leadership on media interviews and public relations opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national and trade media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Manage media outreach, respond to media inquiries, and oversee press releases, statements, and other external communications.
- Collaborate with marketing, regional communications, and other internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all public-facing materials.
- Manage media databases, editorial calendars, and track campaign performance metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications, preferably in the financial services or banking sector.
- Proven experience in developing and executing strategic media relations programs and campaigns.
- Strong understanding of the media landscape, including the ability to identify opportunities for positive media coverage.
- Exceptional executive presence demonstrating confidence working alongside C-suite leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key media and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success working with PR firms and other PR-related vendors.
- Proven success at leveraging digital as well as traditional media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for various audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital PR strategies.
- Familiarity with media measurement tools and analytics.
