JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for results-driven sales to drive the Chamber’s annual new member revenue goal. Responsibilities include actively prospecting and identifying companies who are good candidates for membership with the Chamber, participating in the on-boarding process and maintaining contact with new members. The targets, goals, and benefits stated in this job description have been determined based on the business objectives of the Chamber and Chamber policy and may be adjusted periodically. The plan outlined in this job description remains in effect unless and until amended or canceled by the Chamber.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s (B.A.) degree from a four-year college or university in business or marketing, or a related discipline (a combination of equivalent education and work experience may be considered).
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Three (3) or more years’ experience in a business development, sales and fundraising field, or comparable setting.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and general computer operation is required.
•Experience in results-driven sales to drive revenue goals.
•Possesses excellent sales and communication skills.
•Experience working in a non-profit organization preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check/credit check/drug screen, per company requirements.
•Must have good driving record, valid Alabama driver’s license, and required level of personal auto insurance.
•Must be able to work flexible hours including early morning, nights and weekends, when required for events.
•Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.

• Adequate ability communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume speech.
• Adequate ability in writing/reading/mathematics.
• Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.
• Strong organizational, project planning, and management experience with proven analytical and multi-tasking skills.
• Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Actively prospect and identify companies who are good candidates for membership with the Chamber.
• Share with prospects the benefits of membership and value proposition of the Chamber.
• Actively participate in the on-boarding process of new members recruited.
• Maintain contacts with members sold by the Membership Account Representative to ensure needs are being addressed and the opportunity for renewal is increased.
• Actively offer sponsorship investment opportunities to all new members, and as directed by the Vice President of Investor Relations to existing members.
• Produce new membership sales that meet the minimum revenue target established by the Chamber, as outlined in the Addendum to this job description which contains performance standards, and the Sales and Compensation Plan.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
• Represent the Chamber at Chamber and non-Chamber events, as needed.
• Other duties and responsibilities, as may be required by the Chamber to fulfill its overall mission.

• Ability to work at least 8 hours per day, and after hours as needed for special events.
