Maintenance Supervisor


SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and completion of all maintenance (installation,

preventative, and repair) activity throughout the site. This includes all buildings, equipment, and grounds and both

internal and external systems. They are responsible to set goals; and organize and assign work, while maintaining a

productive and motivational climate. They are also responsible for meeting company safety and compliance standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, assign, and direct work activities in the maintenance area and oversee output of 2-3 maintenance technicians while providing instruction for maintenance operations and procedures.
  • Coordinate, arrange and provide for the completion of corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with operating procedures, practices, and financial considerations.
  • Responsible to ensure that major equipment and furnishings throughout all buildings are maintained in safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement.
  • General upkeep and repair of building structures (inside and outside).
  • Work with outside contractors when required for inspection and repair of buildings, systems, and equipment.
  • Advise the Vice President Manufacturing of concerns, issues and repairs relating to facilities and equipment.
  • Confer with superiors in assisting in resolving operational problems. Offer constructive ways to improve existing methods.
  • Maintain conformance with company rules and regulations for a safe work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • This position is a working supervisor position, so will be working along side the technician’s part of the time
  • Source repair parts cost effectively and issue purchase orders while reducing the downtime waiting for parts
  • This is a high production facility, so responsiveness to equipment downtime is of utmost importance
  • Maintaining the MP2 maintenance database for accurate and timely record keeping
  • Electrical and hydraulic knowledge and experience are required
  • Establish and organize an agreed upon repair parts stock


CORE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, manuals, and schematics.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Works well as both a productive member of a team and individually.
  • Ability to interact, understand, guide, and motivate employees to achieve results.
  • Intermediate/Advanced ability in mathematics, reading, and writing.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4-5 years related maintenance experience, formal training, and demonstrated skill, including equipment and facilities repair, required.
  • Prior supervision experience preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to walk, kneel, bend and use a ladder or stool.
  • Ability to work in outside conditions during all seasons.
  • Ability to climb multi-levels by stairs and ladders and work from elevated platforms.
  • Ability to drive a forklift, scissor lift or use a pallet jack as required.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between sizes, shapes and colors for proper material identification.
  • Must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
