As a Staff Accountant, you will apply accounting principles to support routine financial reporting and account maintenance tasks. This role works under the guidance of the Controller (Director of Accounting), assisting in various aspects of the accounting process and contributing to accurate financial records and compliance with company policies.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and process journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close.
- Update fixed asset schedule monthly, calculate, and record depreciation expense.
- Prepare, process and record monthly & quarterly royalty reports for external licensors.
- Assist with treasury functions, including daily bank statement updates and preparation of routine collection reports.
- Support variance analysis versus plan versus forecast and/or versus prior year.
- Participate in financial audits by preparing requested documentation.
- Assist with sales and use tax filings.
- Organize and maintain up to date financial records.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for FP&A and for accounting department leadership.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries.
- Other duties may be assigned in accordance with company needs.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Apparel, consumer goods, and/or manufacturing industry experience is a big plus.
- Intermediate to advanced level of Excel proficiency is required
- Experience with AS400 or a similar ERP systems is a plus
- Experience with royalties is a plus
- Understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and internal controls
- Consistently have demonstrated strong critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and ownership
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented company
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through effectively
- Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and ask for help when needed

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
