Reporting to the AVP Controller, the Director, Assistant Controller is responsible for financial close activities, including general ledger account reconciliations, the consolidation process, revenue recognition and payroll, and managing the consolidated trial balance. This is inclusive of proper accounting for the company's transactions. The Assistant Controller will manage and assist with monthly consolidation close activities for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness using their understanding of the company's entity structure, general ledger, and financial systems. The Assistant Controller will identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies while ensuring the integrity of the transactions and data. The Assistant Controller will execute key controls and close review procedures.
- Establish and own accountable systems and internal controls that prevent errors and ensures accuracy of monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, equity roll forwards, cash flow and various management reports and other analyses
- Establish recurring fluctuation reviews of the financial statements as part of the close control environment
- Manage chart of account structure, entity structure and associated set-up within the ERP system
- Identify intercompany account differences, eliminate and clear in a timely, accurate manner and partners with company leadership to provide guidance and support on accounting matters
- Establish and assure leadership adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
- Collaborate with senior management and executives to define and ensure success of department strategy
- Provide managerial direction and oversee all aspects of performance management for direct reports. Measure and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards; provide feedback to employees; ensure management team is defining and holding teams accountable for all aspects of performance management of direct reports
- Oversee and hold management accountable for all Human Resources-related managerial functions and responsibilities associated with hiring, compensation management, employment relations, and termination of employees. Oversee the identification and hiring of new employees
- Oversee and ensure the development of team members; provides coaching to employees through their personal growth in functional expertise, communication skills, and ability to effectively interact with clients and peers
- Provide strategic influence to internal peers and industry groups
- Serve as an escalation point for complex issues; provide guidance and resources to assist with resolution of issues, and removing obstacles for team
- Evaluate the process and procedures used by team; Identify opportunities for process improvement and greater efficiency, and serve as an advocate for change. Work collaboratively across departments with leaders
- Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10 years of experience in related field
- Minimum 6 years experience in prior management experience

- Up to 10% travel time required
- Based on individual states' employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $156,000-$195,000 and eligible for bonus and benefits
