What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist position at Hyundai Steel America, Inc.?

Role qualifications:

· A Bachelor Degree preferred

· One to two years of purchasing experience preferred

Position responsibilities:

· Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the company.

· Assist in the projection of steel needed and monitor overseas and domestic mill’s production status

· Monitor and analyze HYUNDAI STEEL’s inventory status and make request to steel mills when necessary

· Prepare necessary documentation for customs clearance and material receipts for imported material

· Provide business support to all departments in the purchase of materials and services

· Provide backup support to the Procurement Manager

· Engage in negotiations with the vendors

· Analyze each vendor’s services and provide feedback

· Analyze Bills of Lading for accuracy and if problems are found, resolve with vendors on behalf of the company

· Analyze the quality status of steel coils

· Prepare claims and work with vendors on processing claims

· Analyze steel coil pricing and weights upon receipt of invoices

· Complete Monthly Closing procedures

· Prepare analysis reports

· Issue invoices and or vouchers as needed

· Attend and participate in Department and Company meetings

· Interface the SAP database and maintain accurate and up to date information within the system

· Other duties as assigned by management.

· Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.

· Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

· Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.

Nonessential skills and experience:

· Skills in database management and record keeping

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.

· Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
