What are the responsibilities and job description for the BIM Coordinator position at I.A Engineering, P.C.?
IAE is seeking experienced BIM Coordinators for our ongoing and upcoming projects in the NYC Metropolitan area. This position will serve as a key technical contributor, supporting project teams and fostering strong BIM practices throughout the project lifecycle. Railroad, Aviation, and or OGS projects experience is a huge plus.
Responsibilities:
- Support BIM coordination efforts for structural projects, contributing to the integration of models and data.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to help establish and maintain BIM standards, protocols, and workflows.
- Serve as a resource for team members and clients, assisting in resolving technical issues and enhancing BIM processes to support project success.
- Develop a construction BIM execution plan and adhere monitoring of a construction BIM execution plan.
- Schedule of BIM model signoff and coordination drawings
- Clash detection and resolution from the federated model
- Hardware and software required for model access in the field.
- Monitor installation accuracy as intended in model and assure plans adhere to city code, state and federal regulations.
- Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineer.
- Work collaboratively with the engineer-in-charge and other technical professionals on assigned project phases, segments, checks, and tasks.
- Modify or redesign existing designs in accordance with project standards and specifications.
- Engage and coordinate project drafting and design support review.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required. Associate/bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study preferred.
- 5 years of experience in BIM coordination with projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM software, with experience in model management, clash detection, and project coordination.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows, supporting effective project coordination and communication.
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others.
- Competent self-leadership with attention to detail.
