What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at I & MJ Gross Company Inc?
The broad range of job responsibilities in all areas of HR really keeps this position interesting. Your initial focus will involve sourcing candidates, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding. You'll engage in additional functional areas including employee relations, workers' compensation, performance management, FMLA, and so much more as your career progresses within the organization. The corporate HR/Payroll Team focuses on an open door approach with our employees. We resolve issues by inviting feedback, sharing information, and answering employee inquiries in a timely manner.
This position requires 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Human Resources including recruiting. With direction and strong support from our Cleveland corporate office, you'll apply your HR expertise when assisting our business locations throughout middle Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This position is based out of our Corporate South office in Murfreesboro, TN. There will be some opportunity for travel.
Recruiting:
- Write ad copy and post open positions
- Research and utilize new recruiting sources; generate candidates through social media
- Utilize applicant tracking system to organize job candidates; forward to hiring managers
- Conduct screening interviews
- Extend offers of employment; review compensation and benefits with candidates
- Arrange pre-employment drug screens and background reports
- Coordinate new hire onboarding
Additional Responsibilities:
- Consistently apply company policies and procedures relating to all phases of HR
- Provide advice and counsel to managers on a variety of HR issues
- Prepare and distribute trend analysis reports on recruitment activity, turnover, and exit interviews
- Investigate work-related incidents and injuries; administer workers' compensation claims
- Assist managers with employee development, performance management, and disciplinary issues
Qualifications:
- Represent HR and the organization with a high level of professionalism in all interactions
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Self-starter with a strategic viewpoint; able to identify issues and implement solutions
- Work well independently and within a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
- Experience in multi-family, residential property management preferred, but not necessary
