Essential Duties:

  • Supervise and communicate with department personnel regarding workload for the day, week, etc. and direct them in their daily activities.
  • Reorder supplies, specialty tools, etc. as necessary to ensure adequate inventory is maintained.
  • Notify Production Shop Manager of barriers to complete workload.
  • Discipline and council employees as needed to comply with company policies and performance expectations.
  • Assist Manager in monitoring the timeliness of work to avoid backlog and interruptions of other operations.
  • Assist Manager in reviewing employee timecards, total hours worked, and flat rate hours produced for each employee and submit to Payroll weekly.
  • Provide training to employees as needed to facilitate adequate performance of job functions and to comply with company policies.
  • Provide orientation to new employees and temporary service employees, including proper work procedures, hazard communication standards and safe work practices.
  • Monitor the quality of work to ensure manufacturer and company expectations are met.
  • When needed, and with the assistance of Talent Acquisition, select and hire new employees to maintain adequate staffing.
  • When needed and as required, participate in management meetings.
  • Keep abreast of all the latest technical developments affecting accessory installations to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Perform technical duties of the Accessory Installer and minor mechanical repair work as necessary to meet production schedule and in accordance with the quality standards established.
  • Assist staging coordinator.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • SHIFT: Monday-Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm with the possibility of overtime and/or weekend work as directed by business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in parts handling field, with emphasis in parts management, inventory control, shipping and receiving, procurement, communications skills, and/or supervisory skills
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
  • Experience operating automatic and straight (manual) shift vehicles

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Technical experience in auto mechanics or accessory installation, preferably in a port processing operation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Deadline and detail oriented

 

Physical Working Conditions:

  • Reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, and or climb throughout shift
  • Lift, push, and or pull up to 90lbs
  • Work in varying climates as well as be exposed to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, rain, and other conditions
  • C-Shift, Monday-Friday 4:30pm to 1:00am
