Hibachi Chef Trainee

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with the ability to manage kitchen operations effectively. This role requires creativity in menu planning and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while leading a team of kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients such as meats, seafood, vegetables, and rice.
• Learn proper slicing, dicing, and portioning techniques.
• Cook food on the hibachi grill while following restaurant recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
• Support experienced hibachi chefs by handling basic tasks.
• Observe and practice cooking techniques, including grilling and seasoning.
• Clean the grill station before and after service.
• Follow instructions and improve skills under supervision.
• Learn hibachi tricks, including knife skills, egg flipping, and fire tricks.
• Practice engaging and entertaining guests while cooking.
• Build confidence in performing in front of an audience.

Experience

• Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management is preferred.
• Proficient background in food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Experience in menu planning and banquet service is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high morale.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
