Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a crew of nine youth in executing diverse conservation-oriented projects.
- Facilitate daily educational lessons utilizing our accredited outdoor education curriculum.
- Collaborate with the Crew Leader to ensure effective delegation of tasks and maintain crew morale.
- Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to crew members, emphasizing teamwork and individual growth.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and risk management for both physical and emotional well-being of participants.
- Transport crew and equipment to various work sites as needed.
- Track participation and progress of corps members throughout the program.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to promote teamwork and collaborate effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on good judgment and decision-making.
- A sense of humor and a spirit of adventure, coupled with a desire to positively impact youth and the environment.
- Experience and enthusiasm for working with diverse populations.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past three years.
- Relevant recreational or professional outdoor experience.
- Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Willingness to frequently drive NYC vehicles.

- Living allowance of $4,050 for the summer.
- AmeriCorps Education Award of $3,097.50 upon successful completion of service.
- Scheduled days off every other weekend, with additional time off during the mid-summer break.
