Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee conservation crews in daily project implementations, ensuring safety and productivity.
- Maintain high morale within the crew and effectively resolve conflicts as they arise.
- Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of all program participants, prioritizing safety in all activities.
- Act as the primary liaison between project sponsors and local community members, fostering collaborative relationships.
- Deliver educational sessions based on NYC’s established curriculum, focusing on environmental education and skill development.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities, with an emphasis on fostering teamwork.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Physical ability to lift and/or move loads up to 70 pounds and carry a backpack for up to 12 miles.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills, especially in challenging environments.
- Experience or desire to work with diverse populations, promoting inclusivity in all activities.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Current certification in Wilderness First Aid (or higher) and CPR.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record over the past three years.
- Relevant outdoor experience, whether recreational or professional.
