POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Director, in partnership with the Executive Team, is responsible for overseeing all information systems at Idaho Forest Group. The IT Director ensures that IT strategies align with business goals to drive growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage. They manage resources, resolve technical challenges, and ensure seamless integration of IT systems across the organization. Additionally, the IT Director oversees high-impact projects, sets technology standards, optimizes vendor relationships, ensures compliance, mitigates risk, and resolves critical issues to maintain operational continuity. This position reports to the CEO/President or Chief of Staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Drive IT Leadership: Lead the IT team in setting strategic goals, managing talent, developing IT bench strength and cultivating a high-performance culture that supports company objectives.
- Align IT Strategy with Company Vision: Lead the development of IT priorities and budgets, ensuring technology investments directly support and drive business growth and competitive advantage.
- Resource Management: Proactively align IT staffing and resources with company priorities, ensuring seamless integration between IT, manufacturing, and business systems.
- Proactively Solve Challenges: Anticipate and resolve complex technical issues to enhance operational efficiency.
- Bridge IT and Business Communication: Effectively communicate technical initiatives to company leaders, simplifying complex concepts while fostering positive working relationships.
- Promote a Culture of Continuous Improvement: Instill a process-driven approach across IT, driving operational efficiency and measurable outcomes to support business growth.
- Define and Enforce Technology Standards: Establish forward-thinking technology standards and policy's that ensure scalability, consistency, and alignment with the company’s long-term strategic goals.
- Lead Enterprise-Level Projects: Oversee high-impact technical projects, ensuring they support business objectives and deliver value across the organization.
- Optimize Vendor Partnerships: Establish effective vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring building effective external partnerships.
- Leverage Technologies: Continuously evaluate and integrate technologies that drive business performance, operational agility, and long-term success.
- Provide Strategic Technical Input: Ensure the availability and reliability of manufacturing systems, business applications, and other critical software.
- Ensure Compliance and Risk Mitigation: Ensure IT systems and practices adhere to industry standards while minimizing company risk.
- Proactively Resolve Critical Issues: Ensure swift resolution of escalated issues to maintain operational continuity and minimize disruptions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems/computer science or related field.
- 10 years of relevant experience in information technology.
- 10 years experience in technology leadership.
- 7 years of experience in a management capacity in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in reading building construction documents and floorplans.
- Technical skills:
- Extensive knowledge in multiple technologies such as computer hardware, software, databases, network devices, voice, video, data, wireless, security, access control.
- Soft Skills:
- Communication: The ability to express ideas clearly and effectively verbally, in writing, and through the use of technology.
- Leadership: Ability to inspire and lead teams, fostering collaboration, motivating staff, and driving high performance to achieve organizational goals.
- Adaptability: Flexibility in adjusting to changing technologies, business priorities, and market dynamics, while maintaining focus on the company's strategic objectives.
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration between IT and other departments to achieve company goals.
- Negotiation: Skilled in negotiating with vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to secure favorable terms and align expectations.
- Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable motor vehicle history for business travel in company vehicle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in lumber manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong background in Infrastructure and Network Management.
- Experience leading a Security Operations Team or Vendor.
- Experience leading a Project Management Office or has fundamental leadership in Project Management.
- Experience leading a company support model aligning to ITIL standards.
- Exceptional customer support to the business units supported.
