Position overview:
The Manager of New Student and Family Engagement is an immediate opening on the Student Performance and Advocacy Team and will focus on increasing our new student persistence for the district. This is a full-time, national position based in one of our current regions with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate. Travel will be expected of this position approx. 30%. The role will report to the Director of Student and Family Engagement. This work helps manage, coach and support staff members at all levels of the organization from the national teams down to the campus teams.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $57,100 and $68,500, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.

In this role:
95% of New Families complete the on-boarding process prior to the first day of school
- You will need to have strong interpersonal skills required to build business partnerships with multiple teams across the national headquarters to meet the goals of new family onboarding
- You will be a critical partner/participant in yearlong planning and execution with a cross functional IDEA national team to ensure all families are onboarded and persist through their first year at IDEA
- You will be responsible for improving the on-boarding experience for families in partnership with the enrollment team by developing family facing training, materials, and communications
- You will learn, understand and be able to represent the Academic Team as development of materials for families are created
- You will track and analyze data consistently to monitor progress, identify gaps and trends and then develop tiered intervention strategies to help all campuses meet the on-boarding goal
- You must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and tailor messaging to different audiences in the organization.
- You will attend onboarding events at schools to capture best practices and coach campuses to improvements
· 90% New Student Persistence
- You will be responsible for tracking and analyzing new student persistence data throughout the year and developing intervention strategies to support regions and campuses in meeting the goal.
- You will be responsible for updating and organizing current campus facing materials that support the work of new student persistence
- When Identifying gaps in training or execution of expectations, you will design materials or training to fill those gaps
- You will conduct observations in the field to see the best practices and intervene and coach schools that are struggling to meet the goal- across all regions and states
· New student persistence data steward
- You will track, monitor and analyze new student persistence data to report trends or concerns and develop intervention plans to help increase new student persistence
- You will develop and maintain business partnerships with the PEIMS (Public Education Information Management System) team to ensure coding of new students is accurate
- You will work with the Director of Family Engagement to ensure auditing of data is complete and dashboards are reflective of the data at schools
- You will be responsible for learning and understanding each state's requirements for enrolling new students and withdrawing students
- You will be responsible to report data out to multiple teams and be able to articulate trends you are seeing verbally and visually
· 10 campuses will implement a new parent and student ambassador program to increase new student persistence
- You will study and capture the best practices from campuses that have a student ambassador program and integrate that information into the vision led by the VP (Vice President) and Director of Family Engagement
- You will design the strategy to influence schools to implement a new parent and student ambassador program
- You will work to invest campuses to be part of a pilot to implement the new ambassador programs
- You will develop the training and collateral materials to train and support schools in implementation
- You will develop an evaluation tool to assess the impact of the program
- You will observe the school's implementation of the program and coach to improve implementation
· 85% Regional Student and Family Support Managers and Counselor Retention
- You will develop training and support materials to assist Regional Student and Family Managers in managing campuses in the region to meet the persistence goals.
- You will seek feedback on current resources and make improvements to set regional and campus team members up for success in meeting the persistence goal
- You will conduct field observations to see our coaches in action and how our end users are utilizing the tools created
- You will analyze survey data from training and create strategies to improve scores in struggling areas.
Required experience:

As part of the Student Performance and Advocacy Team, you will contribute to reaching the following ambitious goals:
- 90% New Student Persistence
- 95% of New Families complete onboarding by first day of school
- 85% Counselor retention
- 50% of pilot schools meet the new student persistence goal
- 98% of data audits are complete and updated by milestones indicated in data project plan
