DEPARTMENT: Production
POSITION TITLE: Injection Molding Process Engineer
REPORTS TO: Process Engineer Manager
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lead injection molding process through support of Process Technicians, optimization of molding process, continuous improvement initiatives, and providing manufacturing support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes; providing engineering support in manufacturing to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
- Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures
- Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Collaborate with Tooling and Quality Managers regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods
- Be the liaison between the production floor and Quality Manager in implementation and sustaining of company policies including process establishment, control thereof, mold validation, scientific molding and quality procedures while meeting deadlines; helping to resolve CAR’s and supporting root cause analysis.
- Technical training on cutting edge technology and ownership of teaching the knowledge to other technical employees.
- Directing and/or monitoring the execution of the Production Schedule with the Production Manager
- Trial new tooling and equipment and make modifications as needed to meet quality and production goals.
- Cross Train with the Production Manager to establish, control, and maintain processes
- Document changes, trainings, and lessons learned. Includes PM’s for the Production floor, predictive maintenance, and Mold PM schedules.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Engineering degree or equivalent work experience
KSA’s- Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
- Hands-on experience in Injection Molding, Mold / Machine Set-Up, Process Development & Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Scientific molding principles
- Knowledge of Injection molding process, Master Molder, DOE, CAR (root cause analysis), Capability studies, SPC, safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Experience in an ISO certified environment is preferred.
- Experience with IQMS or other MRO software is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
- Positive attitude with good interpersonal skills and ability to support a team environment
- Ability to establish and reach work goals with little supervision
- Team building skills and leadership
- Flexibility to stay later if necessary to complete critical goals
