We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Assistant Electrical Project Manager to support our electrical team in the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical systems in new home construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and project management principles, with a passion for ensuring quality and safety standards are met in every phase of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in coordinating electrical installations and services for new home builds, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

  • Scheduling & Planning: Help develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and address delays or issues that may arise during construction. Ensure all electrical tasks are completed in a timely manner.

  • Procurement & Material Management: Assist with procurement of electrical materials and equipment, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available on-site as needed and within budget.

  • Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on electrical installations, ensuring all work complies with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Subcontractor & Vendor Liaison: Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to coordinate electrical work, address any issues, and ensure smooth operation of the electrical components in the home construction.

  • Compliance & Safety: Assist in ensuring that all electrical installations meet safety regulations and standards. Work with the team to promote a safety-first culture on-site and report safety hazards.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, including change orders, materials inventory, daily progress reports, and other documentation as needed.

  • Budget Tracking: Help monitor and track the electrical portion of the project budget, including labor costs, material costs, and any other expenses related to electrical installations.

  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients, homeowners, and other stakeholders to provide updates on the progress of electrical work and address any concerns or special requests.

Specific Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in electrical systems or project management within the construction industry. Experience in residential or new home construction is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.

    • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).

    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

    • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project needs.
